For the last six months I've been building something instead of just writing about it.
It's called Logger, and it came out of the same problem I keep coming back to in this newsletter: the gap between what you know about a job and what the homeowner knows about it.
You've lived this. You're three weeks into a kitchen and the homeowner texts "any update?" for the fourth time. Not because anything's wrong. Because they're living in a construction zone and nobody has told them what's happening today. So you stop what you're doing, type out a paragraph, and get back to work. Multiply that by five active jobs.
The problem underneath it is that the update lives in your head. It never becomes a record. Then a month later somebody remembers a conversation differently and there's nothing to point to.
Logger is my attempt at fixing both at once. You log what happened on the job. The homeowner gets notified. No app for them to download, no portal to log into, no password for someone to forget. Just a message to your client and a running record on your side of what was said and when.
Send a job update in 30 seconds from the jobsite, and your client gets it instantly by email or text.
Keep your personal cell number private, because clients reply through Logger instead of blowing up your phone at 7pm.
Every photo, message, and change order approval is saved automatically, so you have a complete record if anything is ever disputed.
I'm not going to oversell this. It's new, it's simple on purpose, and I built it because I wanted it to exist rather than because I did market research on it. It's aimed squarely at remodelers and builders running four to six jobs at once, which is where the communication load gets ugly.
First 25 people get it free for the first year. After that it goes to normal pricing.
